Noel Kreiss

A young man, wielding two swords. He is one of the two main playable characters as he helps Serah in her search for her sister Lightning. No one knows how or why he encountered Serah and helped her on her journey to find Lightning. But we do know that Noel also wants to change the future.

Serah Farron

Serah was a playable (if minor) character in Final Fantasy XIII. She rounds out the playable characters in the sequel. Together with Noel they are on a mission to stop the demonic Lord of Time and Space, Caius, and to find Serah's sister Lightning.

Mog

Noel and Serah's faithful companion, he searches out hidden treasures or hidden objects that may be of interest to the heroes. He also transforms into Serah's weapon.

Caius Ballad

The game's main antagonist and is called 'The Guardian of Time'. He is seen by his opponents as very Intimidating, since he wields his chosen sword, 'Ragnarok' very easily.

Hope Estheim

Hope in a cutscene.
Head of the 'Academy' which is an organisation which strives to find a new power source for the people of Cocoon and tries to find a way to hold up Cocoon. He also helps Serah and Noel's journey to find Lightning and save the inevitable future.

Lightning

Alyssia Zaidelle

A young woman who started off as a trainee of the scientific corporation "Academy". Is now an assistant of Hope, who is the leader of the Academy.
